Good Friday Morning Prayer
Have mercy on me, God, to your kindness.
To your compassion blot out my offense.
O wash me more and more from my guilt
and cleanse me from my sin.
My offenses truly i do know them;
my sin is continuously before me
in opposition to you, you by myself, have I sinned;
what’s evil for your sight i have performed.
That you may be justified while you provide sentence
and be without reproach when you judge,
O see, in guilt I was born,
a sinner was once I conceived.
Certainly you like reality in the heart;
then within the secret of my heart train me knowledge.
O purify me, then I will be smooth;
O wash me, I will probably be whiter than snow.
Make me hear rejoicing and gladness,
that the bones you’ve got crushed may just thrill.
From my sins turn away your face
and blot out all my guilt.
A pure coronary heart create for me, O God,
put a steadfast spirit within me.
Don’t solid me away from your presence,
nor deprive me of your holy spirit.
Supply me once more the enjoyment of your support;
with a spirit of fervor preserve me,
that I could instruct transgressors your approaches
and sinners may return to you.
O rescue me, God, my helper,
and my tongue shall ring out your goodness.
O Lord, open my lips
and my mouth shall declare your praise.
For in sacrifice you’re taking no delight,
burnt supplying from me you possibly can refuse,
my sacrifice, a contrite spirit,
a humbled, contrite coronary heart you’re going to no longer spurn.
To your goodness, show prefer to Zion:
rebuild the walls of Jerusalem.
Then you’re going to be joyful with lawful sacrifice,
holocausts offered for your altar. Glory…
O Lord, i’ve heard your renown,
and feared, O Lord, your work.
Within the direction of the years revive it,
in the course of the years make it recognized;
for your wrath remember compassion!
God comes from Teman,
the Holy One from Mount Paran.
Covered are the heavens with his glory,
and along with his praise the earth is stuffed.
His elegance spreads like the sunshine;
rays shine forth from beside him,
where his power is concealed.
You come forth to save your individuals,
to avoid wasting your anointed one
You tread the ocean with your steeds
amid the churning of the deep waters.
I hear, and my physique trembles;
at the sound, my lips quiver.
Decay invades my bones,
my legs tremble under me.
I watch for the day of distress
so one can come upon the persons who attack us.
For though the fig tree blossom no longer
nor fruit be on the vines,
although the yield of the olive fail
and the terraces produce no nourishment,
although the flocks disappear from the fold
and there be no herd in the stalls,
but will I rejoice in the Lord
and exult in my saving God.
God, my Lord, is my strength;
he makes my ft swift as these of hinds
and allows for me to go upon the heights. Glory…
O praise the Lord, Jerusalem!
Zion praise your God!
He has reinforced the bars of your gates
he has blessed the youngsters inside you.
He based peace for your borders,
he feeds you with finest wheat.
He sends out his phrase to the earth
and swiftly runs his command.
He showers down snow white as wool,
he scatters hoar-frost like ashes.
He hurls down hailstones like crumbs.
The waters are frozen at his contact;
he sends forth his word and it melts them:
on the breath of his mouth the waters flow.
He makes his word known to Jacob,
to Israel his legal guidelines and decrees.
He has not dealt for this reason with other nations;
he has not taught them his decrees. Glory…
